On May 16, 2012, the chapter held its annual golf tournament for the first time at 1757 Golf Club near Dulles, VA. Great weather and a beautiful course were the perfect recipe for the more than 150 golfers who spent the day enjoying one of the chapter’s premier events. Once again, the Special Events Team, along with many volunteers, worked hard to put together a fantastic event. Highlights included a great opportunity to network before, during, and after the tournament with sponsor provided coffee, lunch, and beverages. The post-round banquet was a big success with incredible food and many great prizes given away during the raffle. A special thanks to our many sponsors who provided souvenir items, contest holes, and the putting contest, where proceeds benefited the IFMA Foundation. Representatives were on hand from SOME, an organization that also benefits from the Capital Chapter’s involvement with this fun event. We expect that this was the first of many years to come in our chapter’s partnership with 1757 Golf Club and we are all looking forward to next year’s event!
