Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Account Executive to serve as a high-level partner and trusted advisor to our clients’ Boards of Directors. In this leadership role, you will be the primary architect of client satisfaction, holding ultimate accountability for overall client outcomes, financial health, and scope management.

Responsibilities & Expectations

  • Ensure client satisfaction by delivering high-quality work while developing and maintaining a high-performing client team
  • Execute all professional responsibilities in strict alignment with the contracted scope of work
  • Monitor and manage client team performance, deliverables, and work distribution to ensure adherence to client-specific scope of work and optimized utilization of budgeted hours
  • Conduct comprehensive monthly analyses of client financials and billable hours, providing transparent reporting and strategic recommendations
  • Proactively support client leadership by facilitating discussions, assisting with strategic planning, anticipating future needs, and engaging as an association thought leader 
  • Serve as the client lead to drive the following efforts:
    • Strategic Leadership & Client Relations
  • Act as a primary point of contact for client leadership, ensuring the internal team fulfills the scope of work while directing routine strategic plan, scope, and budget reviews.
  • Lead long-term strategic planning, session facilitation, and board/committee meetings—actively advising committee chairs to ensure initiatives align with broader organizational goals.
  • Ensure client operations align with bylaws and internal policies, while managing annual governance processes like board elections.
  • Team Management & Quality Assurance
    • Direct the client management team to ensure quality assurance and deadline compliance, utilizing weekly meetings to troubleshoot challenges and track action items.
    • Own internal client documentation and tracking, including team playbooks, annual planning calendars, and monthly performance metrics.
  • Financial Management & Growth
    • Manage client financial health by developing annual operating budgets and delivering accurate financial reporting to client boards and treasurers.
    • Monitor internal client profitability goals, maintaining a regular reporting cadence with ACG leadership while identifying opportunities to grow revenue.
  • Operational Consulting & Program Execution
    • Provide expert consultation on communications strategy, membership recruitment/retention programs, and corporate sponsorship packages.
    • Oversee non-conference event activities, managing communications planning, speaker logistics, and sponsor relations.
  • Adhere to ACG policies and processes
  • Utilize, and ensure team utilization, of ACG project management tools
  • Actively contribute to the ACG appraisal process by providing constructive, high-impact peer feedback

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Active Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), or an equivalent advanced degree, required
  • 5+ years of account management experience in the association or non-profit sector, ideally within a multi-client or AMC environment
  • Proven success directing and mentoring internal client management teams to ensure service excellence, quality assurance, and deadline compliance
  • Proficient in executing, evaluating, and translating client financial data and budgetary performance
  • Demonstrated initiative in anticipating client needs and steering high-level meetings to achieve consensus and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate high-value relationships with boards, donors, and community partners to drive organizational goals
  • Skilled in architecting scalable internal processes and sourcing resources to optimize organizational capacity and service delivery
  • Strong track record of evaluating operational challenges, mitigating risks, and implementing data-driven, strategic solutions
  • Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, persuasive narratives and reports for diverse internal and external audiences
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with a proven ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, video conferencing tools, financial systems, project management systems, and Association Management Systems (AMS)
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally for client events, including occasional weekends and holidays

 

Schedule:

This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position with a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule. Please note that this role requires flexibility for evening events and travel to client conferences.

Benefits:

  • Generous paid time off (PTO) package, paid company holidays, and a paid winter shutdown between December 24th and January 1st. Additionally, this role is eligible for our “Gifted Days” policy, providing extra dedicated time to rest and recharge between conferences.
